Salary: £32,500 - £37,500 DOE
Our client, a well-established and growing food manufacturing business based in Bellshill, is seeking an experienced Training & Compliance Officer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised individual with experience in food manufacturing or FMCG environments to play a key role in maintaining training standards, health & safety compliance, and food safety excellence across the site.
The Role
As Training & Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining compliance throughout the factory by delivering effective training programmes, promoting health & safety best practices, and ensuring adherence to food safety and regulatory standards. Working closely with all departments, you will help foster a strong culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and employee development.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Development

Maintain and manage training records, competency matrices, and compliance documentation.

Coordinate inductions for new employees and agency workers.

Organise refresher training sessions and on-the-job coaching across departments.

Monitor and track mandatory training requirements, including:

Health & Safety
-
Food Safety
-
Allergen Awareness
-
Manual Handling
-
Machinery Training
-

Deliver toolbox talks and support ongoing employee development initiatives.

Ensure all training records are accurately completed, signed, and electronically filed.
Compliance & Administration
-
Maintain accurate training, compliance, and employee records.
-
Update training systems, spreadsheets, and compliance trackers.

Produce reports relating to training performance, accidents, incidents, and compliance metrics.

Support onboarding administration and documentation processes.
Health, Safety & Food Safety
-
Promote a positive health & safety culture throughout the site.
-
Support accident, incident, and near-miss investigations.
-
Assist with risk assessments, safe systems of work, and compliance audits.
-
Monitor adherence to PPE requirements, hygiene standards, food safety procedures, and company policies.

Assist in preparing for internal, customer, and third-party audits.
About You
Essential Requirements
-
Previous experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.

Strong understanding of health & safety and food safety compliance requirements.
-
Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
-
Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
-
IOSH, NEBOSH, or Food Safety qualifications.
-
Experience supporting audits and compliance systems.
-
Previous experience delivering workplace training, inductions, or coaching.
