This is a hands-on, shop-floor-focused role involving inspections, testing, documentation, and supporting continuous improvement activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires strong shop floor presence, working closely with mill operators and production teams to ensure product quality, drive standards, and resolve issues effectively
.
The Role
- Support and help maintain the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Carry out daily quality control activities and inspections on the shop floor.
- Perform inspection, testing, and verification duties as required.
- Ensure manufactured products meet required specifications and customer standards.
- Record inspection results accurately and maintain quality documentation and records.
- Investigate, log, and support the close-out of internal and external nonconformities.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
- Work closely with production teams on the mill to address quality concerns and help prevent recurrence.
- Maintain a strong shop floor presence, working with operators to promote quality standards
- Support internal audits and preparation for external/customer audits.
- Attend customer visits and audits, supporting quality discussions and demonstrating compliance.
- Support customer complaint investigations and provide quality data where required.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers (with support from the Quality team) to help resolve quality issues professionally and promptly.
- Support the review and monitoring of raw material quality and supplier performance.
- Assist in identifying quality-related risks and escalating issues appropriately.
- Support change control activities within the business in line with procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality improvement projects.
- Support calibration checks and basic verification of measuring equipment.
- Prepare basic quality reports, maintain records, and support KPIs related to quality performance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, legal requirements, and company procedures
- Help maintain 5S, housekeeping, and quality standards within the work area.

The Person
- Sound working knowledge of ISO 9001.

We are proud to be supporting our client in the recruitment of an experienced CNC Machining Team leader to lead their machining section. Overseeing a team operating HAAS CNC vertical mill and machining centres, you will oversee the efficient production of high precision aluminium extrusion components and ensure quality is second to none.
This is a key leadership role combining strong technical CNC expertise with people management, process optimisation, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
The Role
Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of CNC operators and setters in daily operations.
Plan and coordinate workloads, machine schedules, and resource allocation to meet production targets.
Perform complex setups, prove-out programs, and operate Haas CNC machines (primarily VF-series mills) when required.
Oversee machining of aluminium extrusions - including fixturing, tool selection, speeds/feeds optimization for aluminium alloys.
Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and specifications to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.
Troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, and program inefficiencies quickly to minimize downtime.
Maintain high standards of quality - conduct first-off inspections, in-process checks, and final verification using precision measuring equipment.
Train and mentor team members in best practices for Haas controls (NGC), G-code editing, toolpath strategies, and safe operation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives - reduce cycle times, improve material utilization, minimize scrap, and implement lean principles.
Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, 5S standards, and company procedures.
Monitor machine maintenance schedules and report any issues to maintenance team.
Liaise with production planning, quality, and engineering teams to resolve technical or scheduling issues.

The Person
Previous experience in CNC milling within a supervisory or team leader role
Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360) for program review/editing
Knowledge of workholding solutions for extrusions (vacuum tables, custom fixtures, modular clamping).
Previous exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement projects.
Strong hands-on experience setting up and operating Haas CNC machines (VF / VM series preferred).
Solid background machining aluminium.
Proficient in reading engineering drawings and using precision measuring tools (verniers, tapes, rules).
Good understanding of G-code programming, tool offsets, work offsets, and Haas NGC control interface.
Experience optimising feeds, speeds, and tooling for aluminium to achieve high surface finish and efficiency.
Excellent leadership and communication skills - ability to coach, performance manage and build a positive team culture.
Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

There are 2 positions on offer, night shift patterns below:

The Role
Working to engineering KPI's including continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency and overall performance in manufacturing operations.
Respond to production call outs effectively and reduce engineering downtime.
Ensure all information relating to cleaning of areas following engineering work is logged as necessary
Ensure Preventative Maintenance Schedule is followed, and progress reported
Always maintains safety standards, and identifies potential risks and escalates issues immediately
Has a strong focus on product quality, and always upholds GMP and customer standards
Ensure all machine repairs adhere to Site quality standards, and modifications are carried out to prevent recurrence of the fault
Play a key role in ensuring that the site and manufacturing facility is continually audit ready
Adhere to expected Quality standards, policies and procedures for high levels of hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practices
Ensure the operations are carried out in a safe manner, following Health and Safety legislation and adhering to internal procedures and policies where applicable and ensuring hazards are reported when they arise
Able to manage site autonomously by upholding all policies, making critical decisions, and escalating issues as necessary as and when required
