Location: Eurocentral
Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm (Preferred Shift Pattern)
Pay Rate: £13.24 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Our client, a well-established logistics and transport operation based in Eurocentral, is looking to recruit a proactive and organised Transport Coordinator to join their busy transport team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous transport, logistics or administration experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and delivering outstanding operational support.
The Role
As a Transport Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the transport operation. You will be responsible for briefing and debriefing drivers, coordinating routes, monitoring compliance, and supporting the transport team to ensure deliveries are completed safely and on time.
Acting as the first point of contact for drivers, you'll resolve day-to-day queries, escalate operational issues when necessary, and maintain excellent communication across the business.
Key Responsibilities

Brief and debrief drivers at the start and end of each shift.

Act as the first point of contact for driver queries and escalate issues where required.

Monitor live routes and ensure deliveries are completed on schedule.

Escalate delays, incidents, or operational issues to the Transport Team Manager.

Create routes using the transport management system.

Prepare driver paperwork, including contracts and relevant documentation.

Dispatch drivers with all required paperwork and equipment.

Complete driver debriefs, ensuring paperwork is accurate, scanners are logged out, and driver cards are downloaded.

Monitor scanning compliance and investigate any discrepancies.

Complete daily operational reports.

Report vehicle defects and ensure they are actioned appropriately.

Deliver excellent customer service by resolving or escalating live operational issues.

Provide morning updates and comprehensive end-of-shift handovers.

Carry out general administrative duties to support the transport operation.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in a transport, logistics, distribution or fleet environment (preferred).

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to prioritise workload and remain calm under pressure.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and transport management systems.

Excellent attention to detail.

A proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
