Key Details of the Production Operative Role:

• Location: Redditch
• Pay Rate: £14.35 per hour
• Shifts: Rotational, Monday to Friday
  • Week 1: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am - 2:00 pm; Friday, 6:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Week 2: Monday-Thursday, 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm; Friday, 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Role and Responsibilities of a Production Operative:

The General Operator will be responsible for supporting smooth production processes while maintaining quality and safety standards. Key responsibilities include:

• Operating Machinery: Manage assembly production machinery to meet operational targets while ensuring optimal efficiency and compliance with safety standards.
• Materials Management: Prepare, measure, and supply raw materials to machinery with a focus on precision and safety.
• Inspection and Testing: Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards, and perform basic testing post-production.
• Production Monitoring: Continuously monitor operations and quality output, identifying and rectifying issues as they arise.
• Safety and Housekeeping: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintain cleanliness in workstations, and promptly report any faults or maintenance concerns.

Previous Experience Required for a Production Operative:

To succeed as a General Operator, you should possess the following:

• A high attention to detail and commitment to quality production standards.
• A proactive and collaborative attitude toward achieving team goals.
• Experience in assembly machinery operation or production roles (preferred, but not essential).
• Willingness to learn and apply safety guidelines comprehensively.
• Good physical condition, with the ability to perform labor-intensive tasks such as lifting and moving materials.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work the rotational shift pattern as outlined.

Duties of a Production Operative:

A standard workday in this role entails:

1. Reviewing assignments for the shift.
2. Feeding raw materials into machinery with precision and care.
3. Monitoring product quality during and after production.
4. Troubleshooting minor issues with machinery or materials.
5. Recording data and reporting production metrics.
6. Maintaining cleanliness and adhering to safety protocols in work areas.
7. Collaborating with team members and reporting maintenance needs as required.
