Warehouse Operative

AM2PM are hiring for a number of Warehouse Operatives on behalf of our client, a leading building products distribution business based in the TF3 area. This is a busy and physically engaging role in a stock-focused warehouse environment that supports diverse and exciting distribution operations.

• Location: Telford, TF3
• Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour, with overtime rates available during busy periods
• Shift Patterns Available: 06:00-14:00 - 14:00-22:00 (rotating shifts), Fixed PM 14:00-22:00, or 4 on 4 off rotational 06:00-18:00 (12 hour shifts)

Responsibilities of a Warehouse Operative:

As a Warehouse Operative, your day to day responsibilities will include:

• Order Fulfillment: Picking and preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently while ensuring high levels of accuracy in all tasks.
• Stock Management: Moving, storing, and organising inventory in appropriate locations, keeping stock checks up to date.
• Quality and Safety Compliance: Ensuring all duties are performed safely while maintaining high safety standards within the warehouse environment.
• Stock Checks: Conducting regular stock audits to ensure accuracy and inventory integrity.
• Fault Rectification: Resolving issues, problem-solving, and escalating concerns to the appropriate personnel when needed.
• General Warehouse Duties: Ensuring the workplace is clean, tidy, and safe by following housekeeping procedures and identifying potential hazards promptly.
• Working at Heights: Comfortably and safely working with high-level order-picking equipment to retrieve stock stored up to 6-10 meters. Full training will be provided.
• Collaboration: Working closely with your team and other departments to meet operational goals and ensure quality outcomes.

Required Skills of a Warehouse Operative:

• Previous Experience: Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Physical Capability: Ability to perform warehouse duties such as lifting, moving, and handling materials.
• Strong Work Ethic: A reliable attitude with a commitment to meeting goals and exceeding expectations.
• Safety Awareness: Comprehensive understanding of workplace and equipment safety standards.
• Comfort at Heights: A willingness to operate MHE and work confidently at various heights following appropriate training, please note the racking is 10m high.
• FLT (Forklift Truck) license. (desirable but not essential as full training will be provided for the right individual)
• Prior experience with MHE such as Reach Trucks, High-Level Order Pickers, or VNA equipment.

Day-to-Day of a Warehouse Operative:

A typical day as a Warehouse Operative will include:

• Using handheld scanners and inventory tools to pick, prepare, and process customer orders.
• Operating MHE to safely access stock at varying heights and ensure operational efficiency.
• Conducting inventory checks to maintain data accuracy and flag discrepancies through appropriate channels.
• Tidying and organising warehouse spaces to aid efficient operations and meet housekeeping standards.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and team leaders to improve processes and exceed customer satisfaction.
