Warehouse & Operations Assistant
About the Role
Warehouse & Operations Assistant
Location: Cambuslang
Salary: £26,000 per annum (£13.33 per hour)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Break: 30-minute unpaid break
Job Type: Full-Time
We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse & Operations Assistant to join a busy operation based in Cambuslang.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining warehouse duties with computer-based operational tasks. It is not purely a warehouse position, but equally, it is not a traditional office-based administration role.
The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working within the warehouse, assisting with orders, packing and stock, while also using computer systems throughout the day to process information, print labels, update records and support the smooth running of orders and deliveries.
You do not necessarily need to have experience with the specific systems used, but you must be computer literate, confident using technology and able and willing to learn new systems.
Key Responsibilities
-
Supporting the day-to-day warehouse and production operation
-
Preparing, checking and packing customer orders
-
Handling and organising stock
-
Using computer systems to process and log order information
-
Printing, checking, counting and preparing labels
-
Producing postal and courier labels and manifests
-
Completing daily order information and passing this to the relevant departments
-
Checking and recording customer returns
-
Assisting with stock checks
-
Liaising with couriers and dealing with delivery queries when required
-
Responding to occasional customer emails and telephone queries
-
Keeping warehouse and work areas clean, safe and organised
-
Supporting the Supervisor with other operational duties as required
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is comfortable with both sides of the role.
You should have:
-
Previous warehouse, production, picking, packing or similar hands-on experience
-
Good basic computer skills
-
Confidence using email and entering information accurately onto computer systems
-
The ability and willingness to learn new software and systems
-
Good attention to detail, particularly when processing orders and labels
-
A flexible approach and willingness to move between warehouse and computer-based tasks
-
Good communication skills
-
Reliability and a strong work ethic
-
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
You do not need to be an experienced administrator, and training can be provided on the systems used. However, applicants must be comfortable using computers and willing to learn, as the computer-based responsibilities are an important part of the position.
This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Warehouse or Production Operative with good computer skills who is looking to develop into a broader operational role.
