**We are recruiting on behalf of our client** to find a driven, organised, and proactive **Transport Coordinator** to support the day-to-day transport operations at a busy multi-user site. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth workflows by coordinating drivers, maintaining compliance, and fostering strong communication with customers. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic environment and contribute to a fast-paced and collaborative transport operation.
The role will involve working on a **5 over 7 shift pattern** with **back and night shifts available**. Flexibility is required to support the demands of a busy, multi-user operation.

## **Key Responsibilities**
### **Driver Management**
- Conduct comprehensive driver briefings before departure, covering route details, load specifications, and compliance requirements.
- Perform driver debriefs upon their return, ensuring accurate reporting of delays, incidents, and paperwork.
- Monitor driver performance and ensure adherence to both site-specific and legal standards.
### **Defect & Compliance Control**
- Manage and record all vehicle defects, ensuring timely reporting and resolution in collaboration with maintenance teams.
- Track and document defect resolutions, ensuring safety and compliance before vehicle dispatch.
- Maintain up-to-date compliance logs and prepare records for audits.
### **Customer Liaison & Communication**
- Act as a primary point of contact for customers on-site, ensuring ongoing communication and service excellence.
- Provide regular updates on load progress, delivery timelines, and issue resolution.
- Foster and maintain strong customer relationships to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
### **Paperwork & Systems Management**
- Perform accurate checks, processing, and filing of transport documentation (PODs, manifests, driver logs, etc.).
- Ensure precision when entering data into the transport management system (TMS).
- Assist with operational reporting, KPI tracking, and other administrative tasks as needed.
### **Operational Coordination**
- Work collaboratively with warehouse, planning, and customer service teams to support seamless transport operations.
- Assist in handling route changes, delays, and other unanticipated challenges with efficiency and problem-solving skills.

### **Essential Qualifications**
- Strong organisational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
- Proven experience working in a transport or logistics environment.
- Competent IT skills, with experience in using transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements related to transport operations, including driver hours and vehicle maintenance.
### **Desirable Qualifications**
- Previous experience in a Transport Coordinator or similar administrative/logistics role.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures in a transport/operations setting.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
