We are proud to be supporting our busy Birmingham client in their search for a Production Line Supervisor.
The Role of Production Line Supervisor
To consistently manage resource to continually achieve company targets. To be a first approach for all Team Members and to manage their issues accordingly with a timely and consistent approach.
Team Leadership-
Ensure the team is fully staffed and manage absenteeism to achieve an efficient start to each shift.
Organise job rotation based on skills, training, and business needs.
Support or deputise for the manager when required.
Communicate daily targets, performance, and updates to the team.
Supervise teams across different factory areas as required.
Conduct investigations and disciplinary meetings where necessary.
Operations & Standards-
Ensure work is carried out safely and in line with standard operating procedures.
Prioritise workloads and allocate resources effectively.
Maintain high housekeeping standards.
Monitor tooling requirements and address shortages.
Take responsibility for team performance and production issues.
Support and promote Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
Quality & Continuous Improvement-
Identify and resolve quality and process issues.
Drive improvements in productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Use problem-solving techniques to address operational challenges.
Ensure products meet company quality standards.
Support and implement process improvements.
Equipment & Maintenance-
Report equipment issues promptly and coordinate with maintenance.
Support maintenance priorities and ensure TPM activities are completed.
Health, Safety & Environment-
Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) procedures.
Ensure correct use of PPE and safe working practices.
Understand workplace risks and promote a safe working environment.
Performance Measures-
Meet daily and weekly production targets.
Maintain low absenteeism levels.
Achieve quality standards and minimise production costs.
Deliver products on time to meet customer requirements.
Maintain high housekeeping standards.
Comply with all health and safety requirements.
The details
Rotating shift pattern - 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am

The Person
At least 2 years' experience in manufacturing, in a supervisory role.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Able to prioritise tasks and make sound decisions under pressure.
Positive, proactive, and flexible approach to work.
Computer literate, including spreadsheets and basic data analysis.
